FAQ

1) Can I wear my jewelry in water, to the beach, to swim, exercise etc.

We work with solid 925 silver and solid 14k gold in various colours with no plating to ensure the natural hue of the alloy is shown.

In general, our pieces are safe to be worn in water or anywhere really and will not produce staining on your fingers. Our white gold alloys do not contain Nickel in them.

If your piece is set with a softer gemstone such as pearl or opal, we strongly do not recommend it to be worn while in the shower or while swimming.

We also do not recommend wearing any rings while exercising as it brings about risks of degloving.

Please exercise caution if wearing while using bleach, gardening and cleaning as things can always go wrong.

2) My piece has tarnished, what do I do?

Tarnishing can happen once a piece of jewelry has been worn for a while. This is particularly true for mixed alloys of gold (where gold is mixed with other metals to enhance durability). Exposure to sweat, oil, creams etc can cause reactions which discolour the top surface of your piece.

We recommend always wearing your jewelry last (after your skin care and make up routine) and keeping it safe in a pouch or case. You can also use cheaply available polish cloths to keep it looking shiny.

If the tarnish is very bad, please bring it to a local jeweler for cleaning and repolishing.

3) What karat gold do you use?

Gold is gold! But not all alloys are created equal. Our casting house uses 14k Gold as the more affordable option.

If you would like to have a piece in another karat, please reach out and we can do so for you. We do not recommend rings to be made in 20K Gold or higher as solid gold is inherently soft.

4) Yes, but what about the silver?

Our casting house uses 925 Silver and it is the most affordable option to start with before venturing into a gold piece.

5) Do you do any plating?

We do not do any plating to maintain the natural hue of the alloys. Plating eventually wears and pieces that are plated will have to be redone in a few years and is not the aesthetic that we are for.

6) Where are you making your pieces?

Designs are all done in-house in Malaysia, either in CAD or in wax before being sent to our caster.

As a tiny tiny business in Malaysia, we currently have to outsource our casting, before it gets back to us. Stone setting, clean up and finishing touches are then done in our home studio and 100% finished by hand.

7) Do you work with client stones?

No, we do not. If there is something you are looking for that is not in our catalogue, please send a message and we can help you source them.

8) Do you send out blank settings?

No, we do not.

9) I like this design from so and so, can you make it like this?

In general most designs have been done before, eg a single stone set in a band is always going to be a single stone set in a band.

Artists with certain styles however, have spent a fair amount of time developing their craft and their work. If there is a particular artists style that you like, we suggest supporting them and buying from them, instead of asking us to copy it.

10) Can you do rush work?

Production time for all pieces is 8 weeks except for those that are ready-to-wear. Anything can happen so it is best to plan enough time to be safe.

That said, if you really do need a rush order, please reach out so we can discuss a suitable timeline that is enough for both you and us.

11) How long does shipping take?

For local deliveries, barring flooding and weather delays, most pieces will reach you in about 3 - 5 working days. For international deliveries, shipping times will vary depending on location.

Please reach out to enquire about the shipping times to your region. In general, the estimated shipping time for overseas delivery is about 3 weeks. This is not a part of production time.

12) Do you provide certification and hallmarking?

Larger stones can have certification based on request. If you'd like to ensure your piece is certified, please reach out. We work with Asia Gem Lab for gem ID cards and local geologist Mat Ruslin of MGLS for gem certs.

Some of our stones are already certified by other organizations or by their local body of origin which will be listed in the description. You can always address the need for additional certification by sending us a request.

Small melee or accent stones are not certified as the cost for certification outweighs their original price.

We currently do not provide hallmarking at this point in time but are looking to do so in the near future

13) What stones do you work with and do you work with lab grown stones?

It is our preference to work with natural stones for center stones. None are exactly the same and each inclusion (if present) creates a stone unlike any other.

You get a small piece of earth crafted in nature, before being brought to its full potential by a gem cutter. We do use lab grown stones from Star Gems China to test and try out a design, some of our ready to wear pieces will be crafted with silver and a lab grown stone.

So while there is much debate about natural vs lab grown (especially with regards to diamonds) we believe the person wearing and choosing the jewelry should have final say.

Freely make your choice here without feeling pressured to choose something you don't like! It is your decision alone and you should get to decide what you want to have.

Our melee and accent stones are usually either natural sapphire or lab moissanite, if you want an alternative, just ask.
